What is Local AI, and how is it different from ChatGPT or other cloud-based AI services?

Cloud AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot): Runs on OpenAI/Microsoft servers. Your data, IP address, and queries are sent to and processed in their environment. You get the newest features first, but you give up some control and sovereignty.
Local AI (our solution): Runs inside your controlled environment (on-premises or private cloud). Your data never leaves. You keep sovereignty, compliance, and integration control.

Can I put customer details, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), or my organisation’s or customers Intellectual Property (IP) into ChatGPT?

No – not safely (unless you’re on an enterprise-grade contract). Public ChatGPT or other cloud LLMs aren’t suitable for sensitive data because:
- Prompts are processed outside your control.
- IP addresses and request logs may be stored.
- PII could create compliance breaches (GDPR, APPs, ISO 27001).
Yes – safely with Local AI. All processing stays within your environment, scoped to your user permissions. You maintain compliance with ISO 27001, Essential Eight, and data sovereignty laws.

Will Local AI give me the latest ChatGPT features?

Not exactly. You won’t see new ChatGPT experiments & features immediately.
Instead, you’ll use our Open WebUI interface, which looks and feels just like ChatGPT — so your team already knows how to use it.

What models does Local AI use?

Local AI runs open-source models. Some are comparable to commercial models, depending on your hardware.
Example: Mistral 68B on a medium Local AI setup produces results close to GPT-5 quality — just ~30% slower.
We’ll tailor the right balance of performance, accuracy, and hardware for your organisation.

Can multiple people in my organisation use Local AI at the same time?

Yes. We size the system for your team size and usage patterns so multiple users can work concurrently.

Can Local AI be used for coding and IDE integrations?

Yes. We can configure it for API-based coding support inside your IDE.

Can it integrate with our company’s systems or products?

Absolutely. Local AI can connect to products and services such as SharePoint, Xero, CRMs, ERPs, and custom tools.
We provide an API to your Local AI so it can be integrated to whatever service you like.
You can also integrate it into your products for better fixed cost service, e.g. trained to do specific things and lower cost than using cloud API's.
