InspireU Students Visit WorkingMouse HQ
On September 19, WorkingMouse had the pleasure of hosting an incredible group of young minds from the InspireU STEM Camp at our headquarters. The InspireU STEM Camp is a fantastic initiative that provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10, 11 or 12 with a week-long immersive experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It gives students the opportunity to explore potential study options at university and discover the diverse careers out there in the world of STEM.
A Welcome to WorkingMouse
When they arrived, the InspireU students were introduced to the WorkingMouse team, who gave them an overview of our company, our culture, and the exciting projects we work on. The students learnt about our specialisation in legacy system rearchitecture, a focus that defines our goal to evolve software to meet the modern needs of businesses.
Dr Eban Escott, the founder of WorkingMouse, then spoke to the students, sharing his journey from starting out in the tech world to founding Codebots and leading WorkingMouse. In his speech there were three things he said to remember:
- UQ is the best university ;)
- IT can take you anywhere
- Tech is a great industry to jumpstart your career
